PRETTY PRAGUE

Whenever friends see my travel photos, they always tell me what a fun life I have been leading. True. This right here is a charmed life unfolding. What is not captured in the photos though are the tough moments that make the experience so much sweeter.

Nobody knew about that time in France when my cousin made us run for our lives to catch the train, only to be refused entry because it was already packed. That was the time when I really felt I was already having a heart attack as my breaths were already short and sparse and my chest started to hurt. That was also the time when it dawned on me: girl, you are old and weak and you’ve got to start running! Now, I jog everyday.

Nobody also knew about the time when RV and I would share whatever viand we managed to order because we were already running out of funds. Lord, have pity on the poor Pinays!

Or that we walk for hours and hours to reach every site in RV’s complex itinerary because we are too poor to ride the cab, not even the tram, nor the bus! #lifeofastudent

Nobody knew of the jeje trick we’ve learned from a friend: grab all the sugar and sauces you can get in McDonald’s because you’ll never know when you have to pay for one! Case in point: Prague–where ketchup is half a Euro! It’s the same payment when you need to go to the loo. Yup, nothing is free in Prague.

I will reserve the other funny stories for future posts. But believe me, there’s more to travel than producing pretty pictures and crossing out places on your check list. Most of the time, it will test your patience, your creativity and your resourcefulness!

Prague is pretty. Pretty COLD too! It was -13 when we got there. I had to wear earmuffs and an insulated jacket from Geox, my life savior!

I guess the temperature there made our skin thicker. Now, a negative but single digit temp forecast already feels like summer for us! Hahaha yeah right.

Enjoy the pictures and video from Praha! We saw a lot in a few days of roaming around: The Charles Bridge, Astronomical Clock, Old Town, John Lennon Wall, Wenceslas Square, Dancing House, Torture Museums, Prague Castle, St.Vitus Cathedral, and a whole lot more.

Nobody would know that during a night out in Prague, RV’s precious camera got stolen but was luckily retrieved from an American girl BUT the memory card and the battery were all gone! But I already told you so now you know!
